A Vibrant hub of local African American life for decades – Ella Fitzgerald performed here – this 1908 site was revived in 2014 to honor the rich historical roles of Kent County African Americans, particularly Civil War veterans of the Charles Sumner Post #25, some of whom built the hall. Educational programs and events are offered.
